Slot Machine is one of a series of Jumpman Gaming sites with self referential names, offering slots, casino and bingo games. No longer a new player in the UK markets, its strength remains the combination of a 1000+ game selection and simple, colourful site design.
Launched in 2020, through Jumpman’s UK Gambling Commission licence (the overseas site is regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission) Slot Machine doesn’t stand out from the rest of the Jumpman stable of 100+ sites. Although the title might suggest the potential for a slot-machine themed design, that isn’t what newcomers see. There’ s a cartoon depiction of a slot machine on the home page but that’s the only concession to branding.
Otherwise, this is a sparse, fuschia-and-violet coloured platform, with a handful of pages separating casino, slot, jackpot and bingo games, and basic links to essential information at the top of the home page. Along with displaying its UKGC credentials and licensing details, its SSL certificate has been verified by GoDaddy, and there’s a link to the dedicated responsible gambling site, Jumpmancares.co.uk which offers resources to tackle problem gambling, including information on deposit limits, self-exclusion and blocking software.
The sign up process at Slot Machine is as streamlined as it gets. You just click on the Sign Up button, enter email, physical address, date of birth and choose a user name and password, and that’s it. At the end of that short process, you are prompted to make a deposit and claim the welcome bonus, but you can opt not to, and when you are ready to make a deposit, you aren’t restricted to debit cards to make the transaction. Identity verification is carried out when you make your first withdrawal.
The bingo section at Slot Machine is on the small side, with less than ten roo, available. All of these options come from Pragmatic Play, and they include 30-ball, 75-ball and 90-ball games along with some themed titles including Animingo, Zoom Room and Heavyweight.
The rooms are not very busy by the standards of modern bingo sites. We found that the busiest room had 150 or so players, but some rooms were in single figures, and unfortunately, these Pragmatic Play titles don’t come with the dedicated chat rooms that can add to the social side of bingo gaming. Jackpots ranged from £50 all the way up to £3000 and there are no penny games.
Slot Machine’s focus on casino gaming unfortunately extends to promotions and we found no headline bingo-related deals on the site, although according to the terms and conditions, free tickets can be won as prizes with some games. There is also a small selection of mini games in the bingo rooms, including popular titles like Sweet Bonanza and Wolf Gold.
Slots fans have two categories to choose from at Slot Machine. There’s the general Slots option and a dedicated Jackpot Slots page and the first option is divided further into categories such as Megaways, Slingo, Egyptian, Cosmic and Fishing-themed games.
In total, we estimate there are over 1,000 games in the main part of the site, and the vast majority of those are slots. Most of the top developers are represented, including Blueprint Gaming, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, BTG, Red Tiger and Merkur. You won’t find many glaring omissions among the popular titles here, ranging from Fishin’ Frenzy and Big Bass Bonanza to Dragon’s Luck and Eye Of Horus.
There’s a handy search facility if you know which game you are looking for, although more category options would make it easier to navigate through the game catalogue. For instance, it is not possible to search by developer, features, RTP or theme, and there doesn’t seem to be an option to add games to a favourites list, so you have to search for them every time you sign on.
There are just over 60 jackpot games, although there are none of the big-name progressives like Mega Moolah, and frustratingly, the up to date jackpot amount is not shown on the game icon so you have to open each game to get that information. That lack of information extends to the slot titles, which don’t display the developer, RTP or volatility on the lobby icons, which adds to the frustration for slot gamers who are used to more customisability.
On the plus side, our research found that new games are added to the site on a regular basis, and for variety and depth of slot gaming experience, Slot Machine compares well with rival sites.
Casino gaming fans won’t find a lot to get excited about here. There is a Live Casino section with twenty roulette and blackjack titles and a handful of baccarat options and there’s a similar spread of traditional casino games. If you’re looking for poker, Sic Bo, craps or any more unusual titles, you will need to use the search box.
There are around 60 Slingo titles at Slot Machine, including Deal or No Deal and Slingo Starburst, but again, you will need to use the search box to find most of them.
Besides the welcome bonus, Slot Machine employs the familiar Jumpman gamification strategy, in the form of the Trophies page. You can collect hundreds of these as you use the site, and every time you collect five trophies, you will have the chance to spin the Mega Reel and win slot spins, although you can only qualify for this if you’ve made a recent deposit of £20 or more, and if you don’t have any withdrawals pending. Along with various topical monthly promotions, you can also earn prizes through the Rewards Reel, Turbo Reel and the 200 Club.
There’s no dedicated Slot Machine mobile app, for iOS or Android, although the site runs smoothly through mobile browsers on most devices and operating systems.
If you do encounter a problem, you can check out the FAQ section accessible through the Help option or click on the green Support button, although this only gives you access to a messaging facility and replies can take up to two days. So if you’re looking for instant assistance through telephone or live chat, you’ll be disappointed.
Compared to many of its rivals, Slot Machine doesn’t grab the attention. It can definitely be classed as a ‘no-frills’ site with a navigation system that is only adequate, few of the user-friendly features such as multiple search categories and game stats that are common on modern sites, and extremely limited customer support options.
That said, if you are looking for a site with a big selection of games or you enjoy Pragmatic Play’s bingo titles, and you just want to get straight into the gaming, Slot Machine fits the bill, with a fast sign-up process and a packed game library. Some experienced users may also prefer the stripped-down design, and for beginners there is none of the clutter you find at some modern sites, which can sometimes be intimidating.
65 x bonus on slots only (excluding progressive jackpots). Cash play does not contribute.
Same as at every ther Jumpman site. Advice, links, deposit limits (for Slot Machine only), reality check, time out and self exclusion (from all Jumpman sites not just Slot Machine).
